FAMILY AFFAIRS (2016–2018)

These pictures have been photographed in the artist’s parents’ house, built in the early 1980s, which was the artist’s home during his youth. The house visualises the middle-class idea of a dream life of that period, and is full of stories related to the artist’s family that are both private and general at the same time. In the series of works, Pälviranta explores the values, norms and spiritual heritage of his own family, by taking on different roles, wearing garments and accessories related to various family activities and hobbies.
